    Head of Content

    We want YOU 

    We’re looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of Content to join our Marketing Team.

    As the Head of Content you will be driving our business objectives by managing and leading the content team at Rhino Africa. The role will focus on overall strategy, content creation and content management for Rhino Africa and its associated brands. Your ability to build captivating and performance-driven campaigns will be key in creating innovative content within the luxury African travel industry.  A strong understanding of brand presence, digital performance marketing and client user experience, all play a role in achieving our organisational goals.

    Your multifaceted expertise in content strategy, content creation, content management and team management is critical to managing our client experience as well as driving business success. By ensuring that our content aligns with the company's goals, you play a pivotal role in inspiring clients to travel with Rhino Africa. Your contributions across these key performance areas and reporting requirements will be vital in achieving our organisational goals and further establishing our tour operator business as a leader in the industry. 

    As the Head of Content, your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: 

    • Planning and executing an effective and informed content marketing strategy;
    • Planning all future content campaigns, based on current research, accurate trend analysis and innovative ideas;
    • Adaptation, optimisation and implementation of content across multiple applications in the digital landscape both future and present to serve business and strategic objectives;
    • Ongoing research and competitor analysis to form a holistic content marketing strategy;
    • Creating unique English content which is both brand-appropriate and innovative for multiple platforms, applications and mediums;
    • Improving the appeal of our English content through market and trend analysis;
    • Implementing our SEO strategy and best practices in all written content throughout all languages on Rhino Africa and other affiliate websites
    • Editing and signing off on all content;
    • Management and coordination of content creation in our foreign languages which follows specific strategic intentions;
    • Content creation responsibilities also extend to new content and translations required for our websites, Kaptio and content management systems;
    • Overseeing, managing and updating all written content for Rhino Africa and all affiliate brands;
    • Managing content production for the Rhino Africa Blog and all other content management platforms, across all five languages (English, German, French, Spanish and Portuguese);
    • Ensuring the adherence to all brand requirements and representations for Rhino Africa and all affiliate brands;
    • Management of team members in various roles and responsibilities across the Marketing team. Creating and cultivating a culture of growth, development and passion throughout the team which contributes to overall organisational culture;
    • Onboarding and training of all new Marketing team members on all content platforms and management systems within the Marketing Ecosystem;
    • Training (copywriting, tone of voice etc) of all individuals who are involved in copywriting for Rhino Africa (including all freelancers, and foreign languages)

    Requirements

    • Based in Cape Town;
    • A Bachelor's degree (in journalism/language/literature/communications or similar);
    • 5+ years of work experience in content production;
    • 5+ years experience in managing a team;
    • Excellent copywriting, editing and team management skills;
    • The ability to maintain a high level of productivity under pressure and to work around tight deadlines;
    • Strong organisational, problem solving and time management skills;
    • An extremely good eye with a knack for attention to detail.

    Not essential but advantageous:

    • Passion for knowledge of Africa and African travel is advantageous;
    • Speak German, French, Spanish or Portuguese.

    German Travel Documentation Specialist

    Description

    As a  German Travel Documentation Specialist your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

    • Supporting Sales consultants with all administrative duties relating to clients travel documentation 
    • Create accurate travel documentation for clients 
    • Work directly with Sales Managers to resolve documentation issues which impacts client experience
    • Customer service-related responsibilities 
    • Work with external suppliers on a regular basis via telephone and email communications to ensure all aspects of booking from supplier end is resolved 
    • Work with our rates team to resolve rates-related tasks and communicate with consultants 
    • Log all required tickets relating to rates and product
    • Reporting

    Requirements

    Our ideal German Travel Documentation Specialist will possess:

    • A National Senior Certificate/Matric 
    • 2 years of experience in a Travel Documents role in a Tour Operator Environment
    • Based in Cape Town
    • Excellent speaking and writing in the German language. 
    • Great communication skills
    • Willingness and drive to learn
    • Excellent problem-solving skills 
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

    German Concierge Specialist - Cape Town

    As the German Concierge Specialist for our tour operator business, you will be at the forefront of shaping our travel offerings through Serving as the primary point of contact for consultants. Your ability to assist guests with making reservations, arranging transportation and addressing other types of special requests will directly impact our competitiveness, profitability, and the overall quality of the travel experiences we provide. .

    Your multifaceted expertise in  operations, client experience, supplier engagements, and communication and reporting ensures a holistic approach to manage top client experience and drive business success. By providing comprehensive administrative support to our Travel Consultants, you play a pivotal role in maintaining efficiency and consistency throughout the client’s journey. 

    Your contributions across these key performance areas and reporting requirements will be vital in achieving our organisational goals and further establishing our tour operator business as a leader in the industry.
    As a German Concierge Specialist your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: 

    • Acting as the first point of contact for international clientele interested in booking tailor-made holidays and safaris on the continent
    • Book hotel/lodge and logistic reservations, based consultant requirements 
    • Responsible for travel request distribution to agents
    • Supporting Sales consultants with all administrative duties
    • Conclude on all aspects of the post confirmation of the booking
    • Enquiry warming (to be handed over to Senior Consultant)
    • Sales Quotes as first point of contact to support Senior Sales Consultant
    • Work directly with Sales Managers to resolve client travel issues
    • Customer service-related responsibilities from client and perform other office duties as assigned 
    • Work with external suppliers on a regular basis via telephone and email communications to ensure all aspects of booking from supplier end is resolved 
    • Work with our rates team to resolve rates-related tasks and communicate with consultants 
    • Log all required tickets relating to rates and product
    • Timeous turnaround time (Sales Consultant request to be actioned within 24hrs)
    • Ensure Concierge dashboard is updated and reporting done with sales managers 

    Requirements

    Your multifaceted expertise in sales performance, client experience & compliance, collaboration, and reporting ensures a holistic approach to manage top client experience and drive business success. By developing and monitoring key performance metrics for our team of travel consultants, you play a pivotal role in ensuring alignment with company objectives and targets. Your leadership, strategic insights and contributions across these key performance areas and reporting requirements will be vital in achieving our organisational goals and further establishing our tour operator business as a leader in the industry

    As a Sales Manager  your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to: 

    • Monitoring critical metrics and evaluating the performance of teams and individuals
    • Identifying growth opportunities or knowledge gaps within the sales team and designing personal development plans for individuals
    • Managing strategic departmental goals for example, the achievement of annual preferred supplier override agreements
    • Developing and overseeing the implementation of repeat and referral reactivation
    • Driving sales through constant coaching, motivation and feedback
    • Developing and maintaining best practices and continually updating and recording processes
    • Producing summary and bi-directional reporting and highlighting trends in sales team data
    • Ensuring the sales team remains motivated and that the company culture and values are promoted
    • Carrying out periodic performance management reviews on the team (quarterly or other) 
    • Overseeing operational capacity including the scheduling of leave cycles, shifts and absentees to enable optimal operations at all times
    • Acting as the first level in vetting and resolving client and supplier service issues
    • Supervising and ensuring fulfilment of administrative tasks: deposits, supplier payments, ad-hoc reporting, etc.
    • Managing the entire client service cycle, including: 
      • Reviewing sales communications to ensure compliance with brand tone and client-centric approach
      • Monitoring initial client contact, response time and content
      • The active inclusion of sales tools (discounts,  specials, etc.) during the quotation process
      • Supervision of touch points from booking to post-travel
      • Collaboration with the Concierge Manager regarding supervision of documents and dispatch output
      • Oversee post-travel client feedback and build relationships
    • Communication and content production, trade shows and any other responsibilities as designated by management
    • Collaborating with the Product Team to plan educational requirements, capacity and site inspections
    • Collaborating with Marketing for newsletters and content creation
    • Preparing weekly sales meeting with sales teams including setting agendas, collating data and preparing all relevant information
    • Preparing weekly team performance updates for the Revenue Manager
    • Identifying PIPS and PDP in collaboration with the Revenue Manager
    • Preparing Monthly sales reports on team performance against target

    Requirements

    • A National Senior Certificate/Matric 
    • 3 to 5 years' experience in a senior sales leadership role with a proven track record of success within the tour operator environment.
    • Based in Cape Town
    • Experience working with Tour Operator Software (i.e. Kaptio, Tour Plan etc.) 
    • Experience working with Google Suite
    • The ability to influence clients 
    • High level of client centricity 
    • Excellent people management skills
    • Excellent change management skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • The willingness to work flexible hours/shifts with changing working days/times
    • An achievement oriented attitude with impeccable attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills and a highly reliable nature

    Not essential but advantageous:

    • Diploma/Degree in Tourism
    • Previously attended any leadership courses
