Mechanic Assistant (Afrimat Mining Services – Bethlehem) at Afrimat

Responsibilities (but not limited to the following):

• Assist the Artisan and / or perform the required / allocated tasks
• Understand the day’s production plans
• Help in other places if needed and carry out all lawful instructions received including working in other areas
• Ensure that the plant adheres to safety and environment rules
• Conduct routine maintenance as directed
• Ensure all moving plant / vehicles are safe before working on it
• Maintain all tools (clean and in good working order)

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

• Grade 12 certificate
• Valid driver’s license
• Technical Certificate
• Ability to work under pressure and meet targets
• Experience working at a remote mining site and in a cross-cultural work environment
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Be prepared to work after hours when needed
• Will be able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment
• Will be able to work independently as well in a team environment
