Mechanical Assistant at Afrimat

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Education: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent technical qualification.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual, heavy labour.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of basic workshop or mechanical assisting experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of heavy vehicle parts (engines, braking systems, air systems and hydraulics).
• Valid Code 10 or Code 14 Driver’s Licence is required and a valid PDP is highly advantageous.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Kathu/surrounding Northern Cape areas

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Assist in inspecting, servicing, maintaining, and repairing diesel trucks and trailers.
• Perform routine tasks such as oil changes, replacing filters, and lubricating components under supervision.
• Safely operate and handle hand tools and workshop equipment.
• Help move, park, or deliver trucks as required by the workshop manager.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment.
