Mechanical Assistant: XREAL020 at City of Ekurhuleni

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 10/N2 Mechanical Engineering
• South African citizen
• Ekurhuleni resident (Specify ward number)
• Unemployed
• Basic mechanical background in a workshop environment
• Physical fitness and willingness to perform manual labour
• Valid driver’s license (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist mechanics and artisans with mechanical repairs, servicing, and maintenance of vehicles, equipment, pumps, and tools
• Prepare work areas by cleaning and setting out tools, equipment, and parts
• Maintain cleanliness and order in the workshop and work areas
• Use hand tools and basic mechanical equipment
• Transport tools, parts, and equipment as required
• Assist with the inspection and testing of mechanical systems
• Report damaged tools, equipment faults, or safety hazards to the supervisor or artisan
• Comply with occupational health and safety (OHS) standards and wear prescribed PPE
• Complete basic job cards or task checklists when required
• Assist with the preparation of the daily, weekly and monthly report.
• Not currently participating in CoE Job Creation programme
• Willingness to learn and take instruction from Supervisors
