An appropriate minimum qualification (MBChB/MBBCh) that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner.
Proof of current registration with HPCSA as an independent medical practitioner for the year 2025/2026.BLS/ACLS. 1 year experience in internal medicine inclusive of time spent in the department during community service.
Ability to work commuted overtime to ensure continuous and uninterrupted patient care. Demonstration of good working ethics, including reliability, discipline, the capacity to work under pressure.
Capability to function independently as well as effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be solution-oriented and possess sound decision-making skills. Must be available to resume duties immediately.
Duties :
As a Medical Officer in internal medicine department, the candidate will be expected to provide comprehensive medical care by diagnosing and treating medical conditions in Internal Med.
Perform procedures that have CVP lines, chest drain, intubation as required in acute emergency. Manage patients independently and refer them to specialist or other referral centres when necessary.
Participate in commuted overtime. Maintain accurate health records in accordance with legal and ethical condition and ensuring high quality clinical documentation. Supervise interns and participating in CPD activities.
