Experience: Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Physicist. Inherent requirements of the Job: Willingness to work after hours. Competencies (knowledge/skills): Skills pertaining to the scope of the profession of Medical Physicist. Must be able to work independently and have the skills to complete projects on time. Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
Duties
Provide Medical Physics support to Radiation Oncology Department. Responsible for radiotherapy quality assurance programmes and radiation dosimetry. Ensure that equipment is safe, effective and working properly. Environmental monitoring to determine dose equivalent levels as required. Give scientific and technical advice about radiation doses, designing treatment plans and radiation protection. Acquisition of new radiotherapy equipment and maintenance of equipment. Provide radiation protection services and ensure regulatory compliance for the institution.
