Mid-level IT Support Technician at Thrifty Car Rental South Africa

Summary:

We are looking for a Mid-level IT Support Technician who will be based in Milnerton, Cape Town and will support car rental and car dealership businesses in and close to Cape Town (Airport Industria, Milnerton, De Waterkant & Malmesbury). The position will be working in a team of 2 people to support the region and will report to the Group's ICT Manager in Johannesburg. The majority of support will be on-site, but remote support will also be required.

Requirements:

1. Own transport to work and valid drivers license

2. A minimum of 5 years experience

3. Relevant certification

Responsibilities:

1. Troubleshooting and problem solving of a variety of IT-related issues

2. A variety of day-to-day equipment support, installations and desktop IT support at dealerships and branches

3. Keeping track of assets

Technologies, skills and experience:

It is not required to understand a specific brand, but it is required to understand the fundamentals and have experience supporting the type of technology. 

1. Deep understanding of networking fundamentals, including MPLS, SD-WAN, DNS, DHCP & IP subnets

2. Google Workplace and Email Support

3. Microsoft Operating Systems (Server and Workstations) including working with Active Directory

4. Anydesk, TeamViewer & Remote Desktop

5. Variety of Access Points, routers and switches, including Unify

6. Supporting VoIP phones and a 3CX VoIP Phone System

7. Network installations including fibre and Cat5e installations

8. Installation and support of CCTV cameras

9. Support, troubleshoot and installation of signature pads, credit card machines, scanners and printers

10. Fortigate Firewall 

11. Yealink Video Conferencing

Salary depends on experience.
