Mid-Level Structural Engineer – Consulting Industry
We are seeking a Mid to Senior Structural Engineer to join a well-established structural engineering consultancy based in Somerset West. This is a collaborative role offering the opportunity to work autonomously across a diverse range of projects — from concept through to completion — while also taking on a team-lead function to support and mentor junior engineers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, commercially aware, and possesses strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Requirements & Duties:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering
3–8 years of relevant experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar computer-aided detailing software (Revit advantageous)
Experience with BIM design software such as Prokon
Exposure to a wide variety of projects — high-end residential, multi-level apartments, warehouses, and shopping centres
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Structural design and detailing of various structures including steel, concrete, and masonry
Creation of technical drawings and project specifications
Liaison with architects, specialist engineers, clients, and contractors
Conducting site inspections of structural elements
Team-lead role with responsibility for mentoring and developing junior engineers
