Introduction.

JD Supply Chain Services is looking for a well-groomed, energetic, outgoing, positive and enthusiastic Millwright to join the team.

Job Purpose

• Responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations.   

Key Dials 

• Proven experience as a qualified Millwright / or electrician (Red seal requirement) Trade Test
• Must be able to work with 3 phase power, and 24 Volt PLC fault finding
• Must be able to travel between provinces
• Government Licence will be an added advantage
• Must have a valid Code 08 driver’s licence

 Education and Experience 

• Grade 12

 Required Job Competencies

• Responsible to maintain all equipment to required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures
• Manage the maintenance of the building infrastructure, assets and equipment
• Repair / Replace broken or defective machine parts, using various tools
• Assemble and install equipment, using hand tools and power tools if required
• Review and follow highly technical and complex machinery manuals for fault findings on machinery (conveying systems/mono rail systems and PLC fault finding)
• Transfer machines to several sites / Departments, either to install them or repair them
• Disassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them, and reassemble the parts
• Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
• Responsible to secure the machinery parts by keeping record of this on a tools/ machinery asset control checklist
• Assess potential problems or needs within the Service Centre building maintenance, inspection and repairs
• To be available on 24 hours’ (7 days a week) as per standby requirements for breakdown support
• Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
• Responsible for maintaining a maintenance schedule
