We are looking for a dynamic, self-driven, hard-working and Experienced Millwright (with Red Seal) to take on the responsibility of doing Electrical & Mechanical maintenance at various sites. This position will report into the Field Services Manager and will be predominantly Gauteng based.
The ideal candidate will be a team-player with leadership skills and have the proven experience and ability to perform mechanical & electrical maintenance and fabrication work safely and efficiently to high quality standards and within prescribed maintenance procedures. It is vital that the candidate has: Red Seal, can work at heights and in confined spaces, is flexible & has a driver’s license for standby/callouts, holds a wiremans license, and is medically fit to work on industrial and mining sites.
Summary Of Role Responsibilities
Important: Perform all duties to the standards of an artisan
Vital: Accept all applicable appointments as a competent person in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or the Mine Health and Safety Act
Perform building maintenance, mechanical & electrical maintenance, and fabrication work on the plant(s) in accordance with prescribed maintenance procedures and standards.
Maintain Safety precautions, and sound housekeeping principles and due care of all equipment/assets under your control/care.
Perform routine and special maintenance interventions on all plant, machinery, and ancillary equipment
Assist with commissioning of new or modified plant, as well as shutdown and start up procedures
Ensure the correct usage of all equipment and assets in the workshop and maintenance environments.
Ensure that all work performed by yourself, and subordinates is done in a safe manner and in accordance with the company’s safe working procedures and the Occupational Health and Safety Act or the Mine Health and Safety Act.
Preparation of equipment for inspection as well as Monitoring and control of equipment corrosion.
Responsible for the control of workshop equipment and tools.
Will be required to be available for 24-hour rotational stand-by duties.
Undertake related assignments and maintenance duties that will be assigned by the Field Services Engineer.
Ensure that all maintenance activities are accurately complied with and that all safety and legal requirements are carefully followed.
Maintain all records regarding the performance of maintenance duties.
May be required to undergo legal liability training and carry legal appointments on selected sites.
Responsible for supervision of general workers.
Will be required to function as part of a team and actively promote a positive working environment and a sense of belonging among all staff
Participate fully in all training interventions made available and promote a culture of training and development within the company.
Become familiar with, comply with and promote all company policies, procedures and administrative processes.
Minimum Requirements & Competence
Ability to perform all duties to the latest ISO 9001 Requirements.
Must have a minimum of 5 years proven working experience as a Millwright artisan.
Must be a Certified Trade Test as Millwright (RED SEAL).
Must hold a wireman’s license
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Must be medically fit to work on industrial and mining site
Must have the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Must be prepared to work shifts, do standby duties, callouts, and work overtime as per the role requirements
N3 / Equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification
Computer literate (MS Office).
Organisation skills
