The Mine Overseer Infrastructure Main Shaft is accountable for the safe, effective and efficient operation of the South Deep main vertical shaft infrastructure and the associated ground handling systems. The vertical shaft is a 3000-metre single drop multiple shaft infrastructure comprising of 3 shafts and four winders. The horizontal ground handling system consists of an intricate network of 21 conveyor belts with numerous ore passes and box front systems. The incumbent’s core accountability is to ensure the safe, optimised and integrated functioning of the ground handling systems aligned to an integrated continuous operational cycle. Effective operational delivery relies extensively on advanced technical capability, intricate planning and scheduling skills, an unwavering drive for collaborative delivery and, exceptional safety leadership experience
