Mineral Resources Practitioner Draughtsperson (North West) at Samancor Chrome

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• To administer and provide design inputs for Mineral Resources drawings and mineral and prospecting rights applications.

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status us

BUSINESS PROCESSES 

• Provide and maintain two-dimensional CAD drawings for Mineral Resources
• Convert Geological information into a CAD format
• Develop and update Mineral Rights drawings
• Maintain the drawing and filing system
• Update DMR plans according to the requirements in Chapter 17 of the Mine Health and Safety Act,1996(Act no. 29 of 1996)
• Update and provide mine’s production (workings) plans and submit timeously
• Update workings plans quarterly
• Ensure that statutory plans are ready and submitted annually

Administration:

• Conduct Drawing Office administration
• Conduct Mineral Resources general administration
• Control drawing updates and version control
• Maintain stationery and office supply stock levels
• Scan Mineral Resources reports

GROWTH

Requirements

Minimum qualifications: 

• Grade 12/N3
• Certificate in Mine Survey Draughting
• 5 years relevant experience, 2 years supervisory experience

Additional qualifications: 

• Certificate in Elementary Mine Survey (COM)
• Higher Certificate (NQF 5) or National Diploma (NQF6) in Mineral Resource Management
