Mobile Plant Operator at Minopex

Description

• The purpose of this position is to operate heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner, and to clean, maintain and secure the machine as directed by legislation, policies and procedures. Heavy Equipment includes Mobile Cranes, Service Trucks with hiab etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform daily vehicle inspections according to operational procedures and report problems to the Supervisor
• Log machine operating hours and report according to operational procedures
• Perform basic pre-use maintenance as required i.e. fluid levels, tyre pressure etc.
• Perform general housekeeping duties
• Operate the equipment to handle material as required
• Perform standby duties
• Operate Mobile / Tower Crane in a safe manner according to manufacturer operating procedures and site-specific procedures and practices

Qualification Requirement

• Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED qualifications such as the N3 Certificate
• Valid Driver’s Licence for the specific equipment (e.g. Code 14)
• Mobile Crane Licence / Certification (80 / 110 Ton) or Tower Crane Licence/ Certification
• Own transport to attend to call outs

Experience and Skills Requirements

• Experience in operating equipment in an operational environment
• Successful completion of Dover Test before appointment
• Knowledge and experience with operating Mobile Cranes, Service Trucks with hiab and other heavy-duty equipment
• Time management skills
• English language proficiency
