Mr D Head of Marketplace: Restaurants and Convenience
Drive partner acquisition to the Mr D platform. This includes identifying relevant partners from both a national as well as hyper-local perspective.
Manage and direct the national sales team
Manage and direct the key-account team and own key relationships directly
Drive Mr D’s commercial agenda in terms of partner sales mix, commissions and tertiary revenue opportunities through advertising
Analyze and report on overall growth (GMV, Revenue, Partners) on an overall, regional and hyperlocal basis. Set in motion and drive initiatives to help drive such growth.
Closely collaborate with the marketing teams to ensure effective advertising of the marketplace proposition and its partners.
Identify customer services issues in relation to partners and drive improvements and resolutions
Manage the advertising organization servicing both independent partners as well as large (inter)-national partners
Drive the overall marketplace promo sourcing strategy across partners and verticals
Oversee partner merchandising on the Mr D app
Put structures in place to facilitate best in class onboarding, product listing and partner optimisation processes
Closely collaborate with Mr D’s product team to improve discoverability of partners and to drive order conversion
Drive new vertical expansion beyond restaurants.
Target hotels and corporates (and other entities) for ordering partnerships and establish and run a corporate sales function
The role is based in the takealot.com head office in Cape Town and will require some travel.
Team development with a commitment to succession planning
Qualifications and experience:
Has a minimum of 7 years of experience in the commercial management of business partners. This includes individual vendors, corporate head offices as well as franchise operations)
Has experience in managing a sales organization (20+ people) with track a record of incentive driven management
Is highly analytical and commercial
Is target driven, persistent and creative in making contact
