MSc Student-Agronomy/Crop Science (Two (2) Years Fixed Term Contract) (Roodeplaat)

Description
- Study the impacts of different agronomic practices on yield of underutilized legumes.
- Investigate the impacts of agronomic practices on soil health and soil microbial dynamics.
- Study how agronomic practiced affect legume nodulation and nitrogen fixation and growth/yield.
- Isolate and characterize root nodule bacteria from soils with different agronomic practices.
- Publish research outputs on internationally recognized peer reviewed journals
Requirements
- BSc/BTech in Agricultural Science, Agronomy, Crop Science, Biological Science
- Basic knowledge of soil microorganisms in particular soil bacteria, and/or soil science
- Knowledge of agronomic practices in smallholder farming systems
- Experience in glasshouse and/or field experiment is an added advantage.
