    National Logistics Manager

    • An established international manufacturer of specialised agrochemicals is seeking the above to be responsible for overseeing all logistics operations nationwide, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading and driving the company’s logistics strategy and planning, developing key performance indicators (KPIs), routinely assessing logistics performance, and identifying and addressing potential risks and operational concerns.

    Minimum requirements for the role:

    • Must have a relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture or Logistics
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an operational logistics management role in South African agriculture is essential
    • Proven strong leadership and management capability
    • Strong organizational and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
    • Ability to set targets (KPIs), motivate and inspire staff to achieve targets
    • Ability to prioritize responsibility under pressure

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • Overseeing all routine logistics activities nationwide.
    • Overseeing all transport and fleet management activities nationwide.
    • Negotiating transport rates and arrangements nationwide.
    • Leading and driving logistics strategy and planning.
    • Leading and managing customer care functions to provide industry-leading levels of performance and service to customers.
    • Managing inventory—taking responsibility and accountability for stock, including implementing mitigating and proactive measures such as security, cycle counts, and other good inventory practices.
    • Actively assisting with executing stock takes and reconciliations, including proactive management of consignment stock.
    • Ensuring legal compliance, including but not limited to dangerous goods storage and transport regulations.
    • Identifying and tracking key KPIs to drive performance and meet group requirements.
    • Assisting with budgeting and monitoring performance against budget for logistics-related activities.
    • Preparing monthly tax packs.
    • Ensuring compliance with group policies and directives.
    • Attending and reporting at various operational meetings, e.g., MANCO meetings.
    • Promoting and adhering to company culture and values, ensuring responsible management of resources and maintaining high standards and discipline within the logistics department nationwide.
