Job Summary

Our Converged Security Office prides itself in its unique structure that sees an integration and collaboration model between our Cyber, Resilience, Physical Security & Forensics teams to ensure effective risk management across all disciplines.

You will be vital in identifying and prioritizing vulnerabilities in the Absa environment and will work closely with risk control officers and system owners to identify mitigations. You will be responsible for running scheduled and ad hoc internal infrastructure and application scans against Absa technical environments. You will generate reports, prioritize findings, facilitate a mitigation schedule with system owners and track them to closure. You will assist with monitoring the cyber threat landscape and generation of team documentation and metrics.

Job Description

What you’ll get to do:

The role is within the Chief Security Office and your responsibilities will include the following:

• Review vulnerability descriptions and understand related risks

• Understand network, server, workstation and cloud architecture

• Prioritize vulnerabilities based on security risk

• Report on remediation actions to closure

• Process and convey technical details clearly and in a range of situations, both in writing and verbally

• Communicate effectively and clearly to leadership with relevant level of detail

• Collaborate with other teams

• Deliver timely solutions that adhere to management direction and standardized team processes

• Perform data analysis to identify and report on a prioritized list of assets requiring remediation

• Attend and represent Vulnerability Management at relevant Patch councils

• Ensure alignment to the Config Management Database and that appropriate coverage is achieved through scanning

What do you need to get in?

• 5 years technical IT experience

• CISSP, CRISC, CISM or other relevant certifications preferred

• B-degree in Technology or Data Sciences would be advantageous

• Experience working with Skybox

• Proven experience in data analytics & visualizations, via PowerBI, would be advantageous

• Proven experience in Vulnerability Management and a solid understanding of the key principles

• Knowledge and ability to ensure adequate technical and organisational safeguards to protect the continuity of IT infrastructure by the implementation of IT security principles, methods, practices, policies and tools
