Network Engineer at Datacentrix

We are urgently looking for a Network Engineer on a 6 months contract to maintain the environment by identifying network requirements: designing network infrastructure architectures, installing upgrades and monitoring network performance. The role also manages and maintains optimal network performance

Requirements

• Lan/WAN experience – Avaya and Cisco, MPLS, Internet, p2p experience
• Firewall Experience – Checkpoint, Cisco ASA and Palo Alto
• Wireless
• F5 Experience

Job details:

• Configure security settings or access permissions for groups or individuals.
• Upgrade network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating and installing enhancements.
• Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), hubs, routers, switches, controllers including interface configuration and routing protocols or related networking equipment.
• Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network procedures; establishing connections and firewalls, or for disaster recovery purposes.
• Identify the causes of networking problems, using diagnostic testing software and equipment. Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
• Install network software, including security or firewall software.
• Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing network systems.
• Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
• Test computer software or hardware, using standard diagnostic testing equipment and procedures. Troubleshoot network or connectivity problems for users or user groups.
• Monitor industry websites or publications for information about patches, releases, viruses, or potential problem identification.
• Test repaired items to ensure proper operation.
• Research tools that aid to maintain the smooth operations of the Information Communication and Technology infrastructure services.
• Planning and scheduling of network infrastructure projects impacting the Bank.
