Description

• The Network Specialist reports to the ITS Routing & Switching Service team lead and is a technical expert in core networking infrastructure and technology. 
• This hands-on role involves designing, deploying, managing, and operating the core networking and connectivity infrastructure, troubleshooting complex issues, and providing support to internal business units. On-call support and working extended hours from time to time will form part of the role.
• In-depth knowledge of core networking concepts and technologies is required for this high-impact, mission-critical role where exceeding expectations is the norm.

Experience, skill and capability
Core skills should include:

• Excellent hands-on experience in core networking for a large, global enterprise to design, build and deliver sustainable solutions within a finance environment.
• Expert at leading and resolving complex incidents and problems.
• Attention to detail in everything you do along with a natural willingness to help your customers and colleagues.
• Familiarity with a variety of testing tools, networking technologies and techniques to accurately troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems associated with the service, application and network hardware and software.

Expert knowledge and experience of the following areas is required: (ranked in order of importance – 1 being essential)

• Juniper Wired and Wireless technologies managed via Mist
• Juniper SD-WAN
• Network Automation concepts and technologies (Ansible, Python, Terraform)
• Cisco Routing & Switching (IOS-XE, ASR, ISR and Nexus)
• Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
• Network Monitoring, Management & Alerting (Solarwinds and PRTG)
• Cloud networking concepts and configurations (Azure)
