New Development Inspector – REF: NDINSPECTOR JW384EX/2023 at Johannesburg Water

PURPOSE

• To ensure efficient and effective construction of water and sanitation networks for new township developments as per Johannesburg Water Standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Advise and liaise with contractors on an adhoc basis (depending on specifications of the project).
• Conduct site inspections (as when required).
• Provide solutions to on site problems relating to construction of services.
• Study GIS and IMQS to acquire information.
• Ensure that each project complies with Johannesburg Water standards.
• Ensure that Health and Safety standards are maintained with regards to working conditions, machinery.
• Depending on nature and stage of project.
• Conduct site meetings and Inspections on a daily / weekly / monthly basis to ensure compliance.
• Capture all data for own record purposes.
• Send copies of as built and letters to Operational Managers.
• Ensure all data on drawings are correct. Check size and position of the pipe.
• Signing of completion letter when project is completed.
• Keep records of as built, approved drawings, letters, inspection procedures, correspondence (minutes of meetings with consultants / contractors).
• Assist manager as and when required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential qualifications and experience:

• National Diploma in Civil Engineering (NQF 6)
• 3 years’ experience in the construction projects of water and sewer network infrastructure.
