Ocean and Air Operations Controller at Toll Group

Job Description
Main responsibilities:

•  Placing and receiving orders either from the client or POL from supplier
•  Forward POL orders to the consignee in SA for confirmation on shipping
•  Registering of new shipments on internal operational system CargoWise 1 and ensuring all procedures are carried out in closing files.
•  Lodging of documents with relevant parties and ensuring timeous deliveries to clients
•  Ensuring files are invoiced and documents are sent out to clients prior to them receiving cargo and containers
•  Resolving credit operations/ WIPS and Accruals
•  Attending to internal and external clients’ needs, complaints and problems - mostly by email, occasionally by phone

Qualifications

•  At least 3-4 years of ocean freight import and couple of months in air freight , ideally also     export experience!
• Matric – Grade 12 degree
• Knowledge of CargoWise1,VOCs, Incoterms, EUR1 certificates and phytosanitary  
• Relevant degree or diploma in Logistics would be advantageous
•  Must be able to manage work, performance and processes.
•  Must be organized, a team player as well as self-disciplined and must have an    understanding of t he Accounting process. (debits vs credits)

Additional Information

• The Ocean and Air Operations Controller is in charge of organizing, planning, directing, controlling and processing the movement of cargo via Seafreight (LCL, FCL, and Break Bulk) to the respective destinations as required.
• They also need to inform their company of new contacts and new marketing opportunities.
• The Channel Controller should demonstrate abilities to, provide excellent customer service, build long-term relationships and work in a team-oriented environment.
