    Officer: Stores

    Description

    • The incumbent of this post will be expected to perform the following functions: Ensure uninterrupted supply of inventory items without delay to various users of the organisation. Prevent overstocking and under stocking of inventory items. Ensure safe handling of inventory items and prevent their damage. Ensure processes in place to prevent inventory items from pilferage, theft, fire and other risks. Minimise costs of storage and logistics.
    • Ensure the company’s logistical requirements are met in both efficiency and financially. Ensure proper and continuous control over inventory items Build and maintain relationships with all BMA business units for the purposes of expectations management and knowledge sharing. Represent and participate in the organisation’s committees and tasks teams when required. Convene and attend meetings and present findings and business cases to relevant stakeholders when required. Implement timeous communication on progress and challenges in achieving the tactical work plans to impact stakeholders.
    • Attend industry related forums, conferences, and workshops to gain industry insight for the purpose of business improvement. Ensure most effective utilization of available storage space. Optimize the efficiency of the personnel engaged in the stores department. Ensure the development and implementation of the risk register. Analyse and evaluate the internal controls to determine their effectiveness in mitigating risks. Assist in the development of the risk register. Update risks register in partnership with relevant stakeholders. Ensure compliance with the relevant legislation and regulations.

    Requirements

    • Undergraduate qualification at NQF 7 as recognised by SAQA in Supply Chain Management/Logistics.
    • 4 years of experience in Supply Chain Management/Logistics
    • Flexibility in working hours will be required to meet demands of the role.
    • May be required to work overtime.
    • Valid driver’s License
