    Online Programme Manager

    Introduction

    • The scope is to lead, orchestrate and deliver the core programme of work within the digital team, from discovery through to timely execution, financial management and benefits realisation.
    • This covers multiple e-commerce initiatives and projects, many of which are cross-functional in nature and can be highly complex, across fashion, beauty, home and food.
    • The team works in a Digital Product and DevOps structure in the main, and the programme role plays a critical function in shaping this operating model.
    • The programme manager will help define the next phase of maturing this model, including ways of working and, critically, the ability to scale the team to reach higher velocity and efficiency (people, platform and process).

    Job description

    Programme Management

    • This includes programme management of projects from funding requirements to discovery, execution, financial management and benefits realisation, within budgeted time and cost.
    • Manage resource and workflow planning and scheduling for the specific projects
    • Report against the programme’s critical path, deliverables and benefits in accordance with team requirements.
    • Drive integration across internal teams, bringing together core business champions in Fulfilment and Operations, Digital Product and IT to deliver to the online ambition.
    • Manage business stakeholders across the organisation, communicating programme status updates to enterprise and trading teams across fashion, beauty, home and food.  
    • Ability to communicate confidently at senior level.
    • Crucially, to provide strategic and operational input to shaping the Digital Product and Devops operating model, helping to shape ways of working, scale and velocity within these cross-functional teams.
    • Actively manage project risks and issues through to resolution
    • Present project status, issues, risks and decisions in Steering Committee meetings. 
    • Actively manage project quality and ensure that quality standards are met

    Commercial Management

    • Develop commercial models that accurately reflect the value of Digital offerings, considering the cost of their development and any other peripheral costs (i.e., marketing of products and services).
    • Monitor and evaluate the success of product frameworks, based on the uptake of Digital offerings and other pertinent metrics.
    • Determine the accuracy of assumptions used for the financial calculations on cost versus benefit.
    • Strive to continuously improve the digital cost per acquisition, driving efficiencies without compromising quality.

    Financial and Commercial Acumen

    • Prepare the Commercial budget as a component of the overall Digital budget and manage financial performance against the budget to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Maintain and apply a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.
    • Monitor the overall performance of the Commercial business and recommend adjustments in the allocation of finances, based on progress against goals.

    COMPETENCIES

    • Ability to think strategically to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities in the digital and financial services landscape, including conceptualisation and development of new digital business models
    • Insights Driven, with strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, market trends, and customer insights to inform decision-making
    • Strong Agile Project Management skills
    • Executive presence and the ability to effectively engage with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally.
    • Ability to influence stakeholders and plan, priorities, and track execution across cross-functional teams
    • Experience in contract negotiation and management, with a strong understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in the financial services industry

    Minimum requirements

    • Senior level Project/Programme management skills.
    • Qualification in Finance, Business Studies, Information Systems, or equivalent.
    • Relevant business (strong commercial orientation) knowledge.
    • 8 – 10 years of Project/Programme Management experience, preferably in e-commerce
