    Social Media Manager

    Introduction

    • This role is responsible for the execution of strategy and inputting into the development of top class organic social media, to ensure Woolworths remains a leading brand on social media.
    • This includes the sourcing, planning, scheduling and reporting on social channels including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and more.
    • This role is particularly focused on organic social media, yet may be expected to assist across the communications team if required.

    Job description

    • ​Lead and coordinate the development and execution of the Category Operational Plan
    • Identify the key commercial strategies and develop quantifiable goals in order to deliver KPI's for the department 
    • Negotiate price, promotions and new lines, taking into account price tiering / product positioning and financial targets
    • Integrate with Sales Management, Trade Planning and Marketing to draw up and implement a Promotional Calendar.
    • Plan and implement promotional strategies. Integrate with planning to ensure supplier delivery.
    • Establish category price position while applying an understanding of customer price perception, impacts on KVIs and of competitor pricing
    • Establish a commercially viable range and manage the implementation thereof, including the facilitation of assortment and space
    • Develop good working relationships with suppliers and other key stakeholders
    • Review internal Woolworths performance data (sales, profit, market share, market size etc.) for the department and make comparisons against competition ito range, price,  promotions and product development
    • Ensure internal and external colleagues understand and work to deliver the department category plan
    • Review department performance versus Department Scorecard/KPI's on a regular basis 
    • Manage financial accountabilities; margins (including strategic buy-in opportunities in consultation with Merchandise Planning), incentives, trading agreements, departmental charges, sample account, buyer losses, etc.

    Minimum requirements

    • Wine knowledge (WSET Level 2 or equivalent) is advantageous
    • Minimum of a 3-year degree / post grad qualification in relevant commercial degree.
    • 3-5 years' experience managing a team/leading people is required
    • Experience in the liquor category & adjacent categories is advantageous.
    • Ability to articulate complex concepts in clear, simple & logical terms & build compelling presentations & professional communications
    • Ability to influence internal / external partners at all levels, with various backgrounds and expertise
    • Resilience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    • Highly entrepreneurial and passionate about the Liquor category

    • Collaborate with internal audit leadership to design and implement the department’s strategic initiatives/projects assurance methodology and roadmap.
    • Track progress on strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with business priorities and risk appetite.
    • Participate in the planning and execution of internal audit reviews related to key strategic initiatives.
    • Partnering with key stakeholders and provide assurance over various aspects of strategic initiatives:
    • Identify emerging risks in ongoing projects (e.g. ERP implementations, customer experience initiatives, expansion strategies).
    • Evaluate internal controls, processes, and systems in areas undergoing transformation.
    • Advise stakeholders on strengthening governance frameworks and control environments.

    Minimum requirements

    • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Auditing, IT, Data Science or related fields.
    • Certification in project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum, Prince2, PMP)
    • Professional certification will be added advantage (e.g. CA(SA) /  CISA / CIA)
    • 5 years’ experience in internal audit, strategic planning, or project management within the retail, supply chain and FMCG, industries.
    • Strong understanding of risk, governance, and control frameworks (e.g. COSO, ISO 21500, 21502, 31000)
    • Experience with digital transformation or systems implementation audits (e.g., ERP, POS, WMS)
    • Experience with data analytics, audit management tools, and digital transformation initiatives is advantageous.
    • Strategic Thinking: Able to see the big picture and align audit activities with business objectives. Recognises emerging risks and industry trends that could impact strategic goals.

    Minimum requirements
