A minimum of 9 years of appropriate/recognizable nursing experience after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 5 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification as mentioned above.
A valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence and willingness to travel. Willingness to perform after-hour and weekend standby duties for the hospital. Willingness to relief the Head of Nursing Services and other Operational Managers in the facility.
Appropriate knowledge of legislation, regulations and Departmental Policies. The ability to promote quality patient care through the setting, implementation and monitoring of standards. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Effective interpretation, leadership, execution of discipline, decision-making and conflict resolution skills. Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree) in Nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
A post-basic qualification, with a duration of at least 1 year, accredited with the SANC in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Operating Theatre or Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science or Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care Nursing: General or Trauma and Emergency.
No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Candidates will be subjected to a practical/ oral assessment. Responsible for the coordination and delivery of quality nursing care within the Operating Theatre and Central Sterilization Unit, Maternity and Obstetric Unit & Emergency Trauma Unit.
Participate in formulating, monitoring and implementation of policies, guidelines, standards, procedures and regulations within the relevant department. Manage human resources, including staff performance, people development and disciplinary processes. Manage material and financial resources. Provide effective support and management of functional business unit management principles. Effective management of information to enhance service delivery.
R 693 096 per annum - R 789 861 per annum (Plus non pensionable rural allowance of 8% of your annual basic salary) Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
