Operational Risk Analyst at DocFox

At DocFox, our goal is to make money laundering impossible. No small thing, right? As an Operational Risk Analyst, you’ll join our Operational Risk team which spans both Africa and USA operations. You'll help us implement and develop a risk and governance structure that best supports risk owners and champions in proactively managing and mitigating their operational risks. You will work with various business functions ranging from Engineering and Product to Customer Service, Marketing, HR and Finance.

The success of an Operational Risk Analyst at DocFox requires the ability to engage directly with Engineering, Information Security and Product teams to discuss and challenge key processes, risks and controls.

Responsibilities:

• Collaboration between various departments to develop and implement risk strategies, policies and procedures
• Conducting operational risk assessments, reviews and audits across the business to identify, manage and mitigate risks and ensuring adherence to internal policies and controls
• Management of operational risk incidents by working closely with the Engineering and Security Compliance teams (due to convergence of risk incidents between IT and Risk) to investigate root causes of operational risk incidents and support the business with implementing solutions
• Facilitating ongoing risk awareness education and training of risk champions and supporting risk champions to identify, manage, and remediate risks which arise within their business function or team
• Support with the management and monitoring of third party risk management processes such as vendor onboarding risk assessments and ongoing monitoring for DocFox suppliers
• Providing support in relation to the US and SA sales teams, with inbound customer due diligence risk assessments of DocFox, annual risk reviews and ad hoc RFP responses and data compliance queries
• Implementation and monitoring of Business Continuity and Resilience Policies, plans and conducting regular testing with operational and technology teams
• Supporting the Operational risk team with internal and external risk reporting requirements and compliance requests in order to provide risk assurance to management, The Board, and DocFox customers.

Requirements:

Must haves:

• A Bachelor’s degree in disciplines such as Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management etc.
• 4 - 7 Years of experience in Operational Risk Management, having worked closely with data/IT risk policies, regulations (POPI; GDPR) and frameworks
• Worked in tech for financial institutions or at a company that sold software to financial institutions
• Experience with third party / vendor risk management and BCM processes, risks and controls
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for collaborating with others and presenting ideas or insights.
• Eye for detail and accuracy
• Self-motivated and able to take initiative

Nice to haves:

• Have an understanding of banking onboarding processes / customer due diligence processes
