    Operations Manager

    General Information

    You as an Operations Manager will be part of Hitachi Energy business based in Modderfontein, South Africa. You will be managing the grid integration business units for dynamic order, revenue growth with ever increasing cash flow. Coordinating with external and internal service providers in order to achieve the budgeted, profitable growth targets for the business unit. Being responsible for achieving group specific KPI's in relation to Orders, Revenue, EBIT, OCF. Developing and executing strategic business planning to meet PGGI objectives for market penetration, sales and earnings.

    Responsibilities

    Developing and managing of business processes. Preparing key information for quotations to customers; design development and release; product group performance budgeting and forecasting; asset management and coordination of customer inspections, tests and deliveries. Managing of the business portfolio including design developments, offerings, and customizations in coordination with HBU Management or Global Product Group Management and Technology Management. Developing and implementing of Strategic Business Plans for the Local Product Groups including. Assessing market sizes and potential throughout the Africa region. Determining factory capacity, capital investment and product technology needs; and forecasting future financial performance. Developing and managing customer relationship and project management services that assure smooth execution of orders from time of order quotation. Including order handling and scheduling; design development and release to manufacturing, management of customer tests and inspections; and shipment of product to customer sites. Providing the prime interface between the factory and the customer for order and project management. Asset management including net working capital and cash flow for the operating unit. Leading and directing cost of poor-quality improvement efforts for the operating unit. This includes analyzing margin slippages, warranty claims, internal quality issues and areas of process inefficiency.     Your Background

    A bachelor's degree in engineering or business management. 10--15 years' experience as a business, marketing or sales or project manager. Prior operations management experience desired. Experience in international business and project management. Experienced use of microsoft applications. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks-efficient time management. Excellent leadership capabilities with a team-oriented attitude. Knowledge of project management fundamentals and techniques. Management of diverse functions including sales, marketing, engineering and factory operations. Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
