Operator Charging Crew - Wessels Mine at South32

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

• As an Operator Charging Crew you will be assisting with charging up of grilled holes with explosives and accessories.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Prepare Primers in the Primes bay;
• Handle explosives in the mining environment;
• Destroy old explosives in an underground workplace;
• De-water and de-sludge blast holes;
• Handle explosives in the mining environment;
• Charge shot holes with: primed explosives, bulk explosives, cartridge explosives and accessories;
• Barricade charged faces;
• Assist with blasting operations (Blast Guards, etc).
• Pump water using Submersible De-watering Pumps.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Must have a minimum of 1 year working experience in a mining environment;

Qualifications for this role are:

• Grade 12 with mathematics and Science;
• Competency B and C certificate is advantageous;
• Valid driver’s license.
