Operator Grade 2 - Kathu at Anglo American

Job Description:

As Operator Grade 2, you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include:

• Continuous inspection and monitoring of equipment to prevent malfunctioning, and all associated equipment
• Rectify or report abnormal conditions and do necessary follow-ups.
• Effective communication between all relevant team players is ensured
• Operator grade 1 is assisted by setting crusher gaps when working in crushing allocated area.
• Provide assistance according to own level / area of competence and in accordance with company policies to the Supervisor and co-workers when instructed or during the absence of the responsible person, to ensure achievement of functional objectives.
• Clean equipment/plant with specialised machinery
• Clean safety signs and equipment to ensure visibility and fit for use.
• Collect, sort and dumping of spillage material at dedicated area to prevent contamination and pollution.
• Adhere to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment
• Active participation in safety initiative i.e SLAM, HPH
• Conduct the required safety interventions before undertaking to any tasks

This role is in the Processing Department at a Band P6  reporting to the Shift Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Certificate
• MQA Level 2 Processing (advantageous)

Experience:

• 1-3 years plant experience
