Operator Hauler - Wessels Mine at South32

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This role is a permanent full-time position.

• As an Operator Hauler, you will be responsible to haul Product or ROM Manganese from the applicable loading area to the allocated destination, either a waste dump, stockpile or Loading area. Dumping could include road, ramp, safety and catchment construction.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Participate in investigations into workplace incidents;
• Report any unsafe behavior, conditions and incidents to the responsible person; 
• Conduct pre-use inspections, routine inspections and report defects;
• Conduct risk assessment before all tasks and identify risks and hazards;
• Operate mobile equipment based on operational requirements;
• Keep mobile equipment clean and in a good condition all the time;
• Operate various mobile equipment based on operational requirements.

ABOUT YOU:

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Minimum 1 year experience in operating mobile equipment in a mining environment;
• Mining production experience in underground mining operations is beneficial;
• A minimum of two valid equipment licenses on either CAT AD730 Hauler, other relevant licenses (FEL980, Water bowser, , Bob Cat) will be advantageous.

Qualifications for this role are:

• Serious contenders will have Grade10 for internal candidates only and Grade12 with mathematics for external employees;
• Valid Code B or C1 Drivers License is essential;
• Competency A Certificate is advantageous.
