Operator / Machine at Essity

About the Role

You will directly report to the Team Leader and will be responsible for the smooth running of the auto sewing unit and adhering to the SANPRO processes. The successful incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the company’s safety standards and quality requirements are maintained according to the designated area’s requirements.

What You Will Do

• Ensure that machine safety interlocks are always operational and the machine is running according to the required product being processed.

• Communicate effectively and report any issues to the Team Leader.

• Ensure that the daily and weekly production plan is met within target. 

• Fill in the daily worksheet and record all poly bags that are packed and checked.

• Perform quality checks and ensure that the product meets the required quality standards.

• Operate auto sewing unit according to the work instructions, SOP’s and OPL’s.

• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices conditions and housekeeping.

• Load product into the poly bags and palletize according to the required SANPRO processes.

• Monitor the auto machine and do minor machine adjustments as and when required.

• Adhere to the Hygiene SOP for entering, exiting and operating in the specific department.

• Assist the team leader during the stock counting.

Who You Are

• Must have Matric with basic numerical skills.

• Machine operating and previous production experience.

• Must speak, read and write fluent English

• Work shift pattern as defined by the company’s shift system and may also be asked to work overtime as and when required by the company’s operational requirement.

• Must work well within a team and independently.

• Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written.)
