Ops Spec: Network Security Engineer at BCX

Core Description

Responsible for ensuring that quality standards are met through evaluating, implementing firewall requests and incidents for larger complex networks and communication systems that are in alignment with BCX’s standards, as well as supervising direct reports.

Key Deliverables / Primary Functions

• Ensure delivery of operational security services.
• Liaising with and advising the Client IT Manager or ISO on operational security matters.
• Managing mitigating actions associated with vulnerability assessments and/or audits.
• Implementation of a security control framework
• Implementation and management of various security technologies
• Act as a primary contact for security operations for a customer.
• Facilitate basic security investigations
• Assist Client with Security policy development
• Security service and operational reporting
• Documentation and review of the Client information regarding security and network architecture and the provide improvement recommendations.
• Guidance on global information security threat trends, new technology solutions and management responses
• Provide security risk assessment and advisory services to the customer and BCX
• High level operational management
• Providing mentoring to junior engineers
• The ability to adopt a systematic approach towards identifying and then solving a problem (trouble shooting)

1-2 year Certificate/ Diploma in Information Technology Experience

• 5-8 years relevant experience. 
• Cisco Security (CCNA, CCNP, CCIE), Fortinet NSE and/or Checkpoint Certified
• Cisco ISE, Stealthwatch and Umbrella
• Information and Cyber security
• Computer And Information Literacy
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
• Interpersonal Skills
• Understanding of ISO27001 controls and the implementation thereof
• ITIL Framework ITIL Foundation Certification Microsoft Office Product Suite Telephone Etiquette
