    Ops Specialist: Wayleaves

    Core Description:

    • Responsible for the efficient management of all Wayleaves to both internal and external clients including the arrangement of payments thereby ensuring the timeous execution of planned projects.
    • Ensure that the end-to-end process flow is optimized to facilitate value for all business stakeholders.
    • Compile specifications, work instruction and work processes.

    Key Deliverables:

    • Responsible for all Civil Engineering activities and consultancy Services.
    • Arrange Site Meetings with relevant stakeholders.
    • Conduct site inspections (before, during and after construction).
    • Ensure that all wayleave / special wayleave conditions are adhered to.
    • Provide final Construction Completion Certificate
    • Perform quality acceptance and monitor on a Zone basis.
    • Perform contract management and Zone operations coordination functions.
    • Build and maintain efficient relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and service providers.
    • Register projects on Municipal web site/s and apply /submit the wayleave/s.
    • Receive and provide proforma invoices to Finance department for the payment of Administration fees.
    • Perform Service inquiries on the municipal web site.
    • Receive and follow up on all affected / non-affected services from all utilities.
    • Determine cross-cut requirements and compile cross-cut drawings, obtain approval and supervise crosscuts and site rehabilitation.
    • Manage/ perform all processes relating to incoming and outgoing wayleaves.
    • Collaborate with other parties’ requests to client site to relocate its equipment.
    • Manage wayleave processes for dealing with high load requests from trucking companies.
    • Ensure that objections processes for New Developments are followed and that plants are relocated and captured on GIS, where required.
    • Ensure that wayleave processes for the building of new Power/Electrical routes, are followed.
    • Obtain required information from key role players and support all users of network information systems to access network data.
    • Use Project Management skills to efficiently manage projects and track milestones.
    • Ensure that SLA and query escalations timelines are met.
    • Ensure adherence to best practices.
    • Manage and control records – i.e. availability, integrity and quality of all Network information in area/s of responsibility.
    • Ensure compliance to legislation and corporate governance.
    • Implement and adhere to client policies and procedure.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 3 year-relevant degree in Civil Engineering field (NQF 7).
    • 3 years’ experience in an ICT and in a Civil Engineering environment.
    • Registration with ECSA as a Professional Civil Engineer.
