Outreach Officer at Iziko South African Museum

Requirements: 

• Grade 12 
• Diploma in Education (Science Focus) 
• Ideal- Education degree (Science Focus) 
• Driver’s license Experience in Teaching, training or tutoring experience with a science background and familiarity with the National curriculum 
• Understanding of outcomesbased education: Computer literate – MS Office, Internet, email, and good knowledge of the relevant collection 
• Materials development and programme presentation skills 
• Able to communicate (written and verbal) in at least two regional languages, with competence in a third regional language advantageous 
• Familiarity with the social and developmental needs of Western Cape communities and a display of cultural empathy.

Key Responsibilities include: 

• External Education and Public Programmes 
• Outreach and Audience Development 
• Promotion of Planetarium Research and Collections
