    Part Time Lecturers x8 -Communication Languages First Year And Foundation Unit

    Key performance areas/Core functions:

    • provide teaching and create learning opportunities with the integration of technology as part of teaching and learning strategies in different languages.
    • be responsible for administrative tasks related to (but not limited to) teaching and
    • learning, such as setting, marking and capturing marks for assessments, compile and maintain quality study guides, examination question papers and
    • memoranda as well as subject portfolio files.
    • upload module content on myTUTor/Brightspace.
    • be actively involved in departmental activities.
    • attend departmental and subject meetings per invitation.
    • complete a Teaching for Learning/TUT Licence to Teach programme.
    • attend training on TUT Learning Management System; and perform any other duty assigned by the Head of Department, Section Head or Subject Coordinator. 

    Academic qualifications:

    • A master’s degree in Language Practice, African Languages, Linguistics, English or any equivalent relevant qualification.
    • A Doctoral Degree in any of the above-mentioned qualifications will be an added advantage.

    Experience:

    • Three years’ lecturing experience in Higher Education is required and/or three years’ industry experience.
    • Full proficiency in the language of teaching is mandatory.
    • Paper presentation(s) in local seminars or conferences and publication(s) in DHET accredited journals will also be an added advantage.
    • Advanced presentation skills.
    • Proven ability in using teaching technology.
    • Attributes critical to the FYFU Unit
    • Optimistic person who embraces innovation, the 4+ Industrial Revolution, and collaborates with other national/international talents in the 21st-century university
    • landscape.
    • Act with integrity, respect, and accountability.
    • Show initiative, study, and prepare to better self and organizational services, and use technology to enhance work practices and services
