Role summary:
Altum Group are establishing a banking and data management team to improve efficiency and provide consistency across its operational jurisdictions. To this extent, Altum is looking to deploy a centralised team utilising a digital approach to satisfy the business’ payments processing, banking system management and data management requirements (the “Banking & Data Team”).
The Banking & Data Team will be responsible for accurate and timely drafting of internal and customer vendor payments, maintenance of client banking platforms, opening/administration of client bank accounts and oversight of client data in internal databases. We have an opportunity in our newly established Cape Town office for a Payments & Data Administrator to join the Banking & Data Team. The successful candidate will be required to work to strict SLA’s.
Key responsibilities:
Payments Input (circa 50%)
- Ensuring all payments submitted by client administration teams and internal finance teams are completed within strict cut-offs and according to SLA’s.
- Accurate input of payment instructions across various banking platforms.
- Monitoring payment request queues and implementing urgent instructions.
- Monitoring workflow and authorisations to ensure payments are executed in line with cut off requirements.
Database management (circa 20%)
- Inputting of new and updated customer/entity data.
- Manage data entry priorities.
- Assisting in the addition of new vendors and their respective account details into the company’s database.
- Performing call backs on new back account details in line with internal call back procedures.
Client Bank Account Opening (circa 10%)
- Preparation of client account opening applications in relation to key banking relationships.
- Uploading of additional accounts on respective banking platforms.
- Uploading of additional bank accounts and respective banking data on Altum database.
Banking Platform User Management (circa 10%)
- Assist in the management of banking platform users ensuring all users have access to the relevant systems.
- Ensure banking platform requests are dealt with in line with specific SLA’s.
- Liaising with client facing teams in relation to the management of external users of banking platforms.
Signatory List Management (circa 10%)
- Assisting with the maintenance of the Altum Group signatory lists.
- Updating Altum Group signatory lists in line with requirements as approved by the respective boards.
- Maintenance of signatory diligence in line with requirements.
- Circulation of signatory diligence to client facing teams upon requests in line with specific SLAs.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
To be successful in this role, the candidate must have a good standard of IT skills, oral and written English, along with the following skills and experience:
- Experience working in a payments team desirable but not essential.
- Desire to work in an operational role within the financial services industry.
- Excellent accuracy & attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines adhering to industry payment cut off times.
