    Payments Specialist

    Purpose of the Position:

    • To assist the Senior Payments Manager in driving the overarching payments strategy and support the vision by creating an end-to-end payments roadmap that is tracked and executed  
    • Drive closer alignment with all internal, markets and external teams
    • To assist in driving end to end analytics and senior level presentations for stakeholders
    • Collaborate with all teams within the organisation to drive better alignment for payments and act as a Payments SME
    • Must maintain and drive relationships and initiatives with SA & ROA (all 49 markets)
    • Must assist in driving communication, projects & execution to external stakeholder

    Key Performance Objectives

    Strategic & Operational:

    • Assist the Product team in driving and tracking all activities within the Payments roadmap
    • Assist the Product team in compiling all presentations to senior leadership
    • Manage all commission related activities and ensure the correct information is provided to senior leadership to enable cost efficiencies
    • Keep an updated view and snapshot of all commission between digital vendors and Multichoice
    • Cultivate and manage objective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including end-users, SME’s, project managers and senior staff members
    • Manage all interaction with SA & ROA markets and drive key objective and projects with Payment champions with constant feedback into the management team
    • Maintenance of expert knowledge on relevant industry best practices around payments and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders  
    • Execute relevant projects / initiatives aligned to strategic objectives with specific performance measures and control systems to track progress
    • Track all internal strategic projects and ensure full end to end tracking and planning is done with SA & ROA markets
    • Initiate and manage high level payments research, data mining and quantitative analysis to ensure sustainability and future competitive growth
    • Explore local and international markets for payment trends in order to expand and strengthen the business' market position’.
    • Ensure discussions are held with payment champions to identify improvements and initiate process improvement into the payments process.
    • Facilitate the conversion of knowledge and ideas into new or improved products, processes and services
    • Assist the Senior Insights Analyst in driving data driven recommendations and use case within the Payments space
    • Have input and technical know-how around data and analytics
    • Drive ad-hoc project with all stakeholders and ensure full tracking and visibility to the leadership team
    • Provide input into weekly and monthly reporting
    • Understand goals and objectives of vendor as compared to the purpose and capabilities of the digital payment systems.
    • Drive and compile the Vendor Landscape to align markets and external providers to the overall payments’ strategy
    • Assist in driving market and payments and create objectives and targets that are measurable, tracked and reported

    Qualifications

    • Degree or diploma in IT

    Experience

    • Minimum 3 to 4 years’ experience in a similar role
    • Experience in Payments
    • Proven track record of implementing strong governance and control measures within a complex business
    • Experience working in a high availability environment with multiple operational instances
    • Experience with Payments and good knowledge of the international payments landscape
    • Experience in working with and negotiating with External stakeholders
    • Experience with and understanding of Customer Care, Billing and digital Payment Processes
