Payroll Manager at MECS (Pty) Ltd

Primary Responsibilities
Payroll Management:

• Oversee the end-to-end processing of Weekly, Biweekly, and Monthly payrolls for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Ensure accurate input, processing, and reconciliation of payroll data.
• Maintain and manage the payroll system, ensuring data integrity and compliance with data protection laws.

Compliance:

• Stay up to date with South African payroll-related legislation, tax regulations, and statutory requirements such as the Employment Tax Incentive Act (ETI), COIDA, SARS PAYE, and UIF.
• Ensure all payroll practices align with legal guidelines and that payroll taxes are correctly calculated, reported, and remitted.
• Collaborate with HR/Ops to manage and maintain compliance with Bargaining Councils and Wage negotiations.

Payroll Audit and Controls:

• Implement and maintain strong internal controls to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct regular departmental audits to verify data integrity and compliance with regulations.

Minimum Experience:

• 5-7 years of experience in payroll management with a strong focus on South African and Africa legislation and payroll regulations.
• Proficiency in Payspace payroll systems.
