    Payroll Supervisor

    Job Description:

    This job encompasses the effective managing, planning, control and sustainability of Data, Payroll Execution & Org Management processes. Manage the effective integration of the Payroll and Data processes end to end for all Fusion payrolls such as Kumba, Coal SA, AOL and EMEA SS.

    Ensure that all SLA targets and measures are met. Comply with all Governance requirements. Focus on building strong Business relationships by adding value through optimal customer service. Leads continued success with a change agent mentality. In addition, the position will investigate and close any escalated issues stemming from subordinates and escalate any issues that can’t be resolved to the appropriate position.

    KEY TASKS

    Operational Delivery

    • Accountable for coordinating and controlling of the timely & accurate processing of all input documentation according to SLA measures.
    • Accountable for coordinating and controlling of all the weekly and monthly checklists.
    • Ensure the adherence to Process and Service Standards for the effective governance within area of responsibility.
    • Interpret, communicate, coach & monitor relevant policies and procedures to staff.
    • Communicate the Service Delivery strategy and operating model to the team.
    • Identify risks and implement actions to mitigate/eliminate all risks.
    • The effective resolution and coordination of issues and incidents with actions plans and quality controls in place
    • Ensure that all SLA targets and measures are met.
    • Comply with all Governance requirements.
    • Investigate and close any escalated issues stemming from subordinates and escalate any issues that can’t be resolved to the appropriate position

    • Actively collaborate within own team and in the wider ES to build capacity and relations

    Continuous improvement

    • Encourage collaboration to generate innovative ideas that are sustainable & cost effective in the Service Delivery function
    • Attending process and service design reviews in order to generate ideas to drive efficient processing and a quality service. 

    Customer Relationship building

    • Build customer relations through effective communication and efficient issue resolution
    • Minimal escalations to individual’s manager when issues have not been adequately addressed.
    • Contribute toward building strong Business relationships and adding value through optimal customer service. 

    GENERIC TASK

    • Monitor the work of each team member and provide regular and useful feedback to them on how they are performing and
    • Drive delivery of objectives holding team members to account for their work.

    • Monitor the activities of your team which involve other teams and appropriately intervene to address any cross-team issues

    Financial:

    • Contribute to the development of the budget
    • Monitor your costs against budget and either address, or advise your manager of, any variances of note
    • Identify any opportunities for improved cost management and either address these, or raise them with your manager, as appropriate

    Work Processes:

    • Fully understand the policies, processes and systems which apply to your team’s work and provide leadership so that your team works within these
    • Identify any issues around these that interfere with the ability of your team to complete work or meet the plan / strategy. For processes within your authority, make the required changes. For others, escalate these issues to seek action and / or look for alternative solutions

    Qualifications:

    • A relevant Payroll qualification required
    •  3 year qualification will be advantageous
    • Recognition of prior experience

    EXPERIENCE

    • 3-5 years payroll with at least 2 years at a supervisory level
    • At least 2 years SAP HR proficiency
    • Customer service delivery (would be advantageous)
    • Knowledge of SAP systems (SAP 409 and SAP Fusion). 
    • Knowledge of Transactional Content Processing System  (TCP) will be advantageous
