Physical Sciences College Teacher at Inspired Education

ROLE SUMMARY:

• We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated High School and Further Studies Physical Science Teacher to join our dynamic team.
• The successful candidate will inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for science through engaging, hands-on learning experiences. You will teach Physical Sciences across the high school and college levels, guiding students to achieve exceptional academic outcomes while fostering a lifelong appreciation for scientific discovery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and high-quality Physical Science lessons for High School and Further Studies students.
• Create a stimulating, supportive, and safe classroom environment that encourages inquiry and intellectual curiosity.
• Set and assess homework, classwork, and examinations to monitor student progress and provide effective feedback.
• Maintain professional standards of punctuality, behaviour, and presentation.
• Contribute to the development of departmental resources and curriculum design.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and reflect on teaching practice for continuous improvement.
• Offer extra lessons when required (two afternoons per week).
• Communicate effectively with parents and respond to correspondence promptly (within 24 hours).
• Support and attend school events and initiatives as requested by the Head of School.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• University degree in Physical Sciences or a related field.
• Certified Teaching Status.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching Physical Sciences in a high school and post-16 setting.
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for science education.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Competence in integrating ICT into teaching and learning.
• Appropriate right to work in South Africa.
