Piping Designer/Modeller (Plant 3D) (Pretoria) at Redheads Engineering Solutions (Pty) Ltd

• We require an experienced piping 3D modeller and draughtsperson with experience in the 3D routing and pipe isometric creation for an international client. Experience in the execution of a brownfields project in typically the mining or mineral processing environment will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with analysing information available to the design team and highlight the possible need for extra information and assess the most efficient workflow to execute the work based on the deliverable requirements.
• Develop 3D routing of piping through new and existing plant areas and populating the route with pipe and fittings in compliance with the P&ID and using the conceptual 3D model as a guide.
• Have demonstrated experience and ability following input from the senior designer once the job package has been discussed.
• Have the ability and willingness to be part of 3D model review team and have meaningful contributions to the exercise.
• Have more than 5 years’ experience in the use of Autodesk Plant 3D, including the editing and adding library items and the use of basic AutoCAD 3D draughting techniques to ensure efficient pipe routing and placement.
• The ability to layout standard pipe support structures where required will be of advantage.
• Responsible for the management of created 3D models and drawings as per the project requirements, this includes the creation, use, editing and electronic filing and safekeeping of all data.
• Be able to work in a multinational and cross-cultural team. The complete team might consist of various nationalities as the project is based in several international locations.

Requirements:

• 5 years or more experience in the 3D modelling, routing and isometric creation of piping systems using applicable ANSI, DIN and ISO specifications.
• Ability to communicate, present and report effectively. This is typically accomplished using the Microsoft Office collection of software, Teams, Navisworks, SharePoint. Experience with the use of BIM360 (Autodesk Construction Cloud) will be advantageous.
• More than 5 years’ experience in hands-on use of Autodesk Plant 3D in the 3-dimensional layout, routing and modelling and the 2D creation of isometric, spool and general arrangement drawings.
• Be fluent in business English in the work environment.
