Plant Engineer - Ngodwana Energy at Sappi

As a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible to:

• Maintenance Oversight: Manage the maintenance and safe operation of the plant and equipment, ensuring compliance with O&M Service Provider standards.
• Technical Leadership: Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert, driving operational excellence.
• Operational Efficiency: Ensure plant and equipment operate efficiently at optimum levels, adhering to design capacity and specifications.
• Performance Monitoring: Review critical performance parameters daily, addressing deviations and mitigating risks of unplanned interruptions.
• Historical Tracking: Oversee the maintenance of historical records of operating parameters, monitoring for long-term deviations.
• Capital Requirements: Identify and account for capital needs to enhance production efficiencies and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Performance Reporting: Evaluate turbine generator and boiler performance, producing detailed monthly performance reports.
• Compliance and Procedures: Update and ensure compliance with operational control standards, legislative requirements, and OEM specifications.
• Problem Solving: Support O&M teams in troubleshooting and corrective actions, facilitating team-based problem-solving sessions.
• Planning and Audits: Develop short, medium, and long-term production and outage plans. Conduct maintenance audits, including PMs, permits, and CMMS system utilization.
• Safety, Health, and Environment:Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No. 85 of 1993), and other relevant legislation. Adhere to company SHEQ policies, procedures, and work instructions.

What are we looking for?

• BSc Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
• GCC (Factories)
• 5 Years Process experience (Combustion) or
• 5 Years Utilities experience
