Portfolio Manager: Vodapay POS/Merchant Product Marketing at Vodacom

Role purpose:

The Portfolio Manager: Vodapay POS/Merchant Product Marketing is based within the Financial Services Business Unit.

• The role is accountable for growing and driving customer engagement across all relevant media platforms (ATL, BTL & Retail) for the Payments segment (POS). The role will provide clear direction for marketing across the business unit, working in close coordination with the Brand, Segment, Content, and Channel teams. Lead the execution of marketing programs from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration. Analyze customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful strategies.
• On the retail front, the role will be accountable for identifying, creating, and maximizing all marketing opportunities at our retailers, partners, wholesalers, or distributors to drive POS machines sales growth and profitability.
• Outputs include driving campaign strategies and plans to deliver on overall brand and commercial goals within the various business units. The function plays a primary role in driving the optimization of the overall behavioral measurement score (BMS) for brand consideration and channel experience (TNPS), as well as revenue generated through the various channels and associated cost savings.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Integrated campaign strategy and implementation across Vodacom Financial Services.
• Media strategy, implementation, and performance across all media channels including radio, TV, outdoor, sponsorships, premium display, mobile display, programmatic, advertising networks, search, influencer marketing, and paid social.
• Ability to conceptualize and enhance the customer experience across the entire customer journey, with a strong focus on channel attribution.
• Drive breakthrough marketing innovation.
• Provide inspirational leadership and coaching across the Vodacom organization, as well as external partners and agencies to enable the delivery of marketing brand and commercial outcomes.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Matric/ Grade 12 is essential.
• 3-year Business related Degree or National Diploma or MBA essential.
• Capable of working in a complex organization and able to build strong relationships and credibility with multiple levels both internally and externally.
• 8+ years of relevant experience including:
• Driving Marketing and channels strategies (ATL & BTL).
• Driving commercial & operational targets for marketing, sales, revenue, profitability, user experience quality measures, and adoption of the products and services.
• Managing content and updates for customer and internal touch points, establishing budget guidelines, participating in events, documenting business processes, and providing additional support.
• Gathering customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies, increase customer conversions, and generate more qualified leads.
• Tracking the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and reporting findings to the product owners.
• Establish positioning, identify target audiences, and develop marketing plans with specific objectives across different channels and segments.
• Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies, complete with formal proposals and recommendations on tactics.
• Creating strategic plans to win market share from competitors.
