POS New Install Technician at Recru-IT

Job Description:

• A New Install Technician will be responsible for the day to day installations and training of the company merchants on Point-of-sales devices.
• New Install Technicians are also responsible for the day to day installations and service calls outs for merchants on outsourced field support projects.
• The role of a New Install Technician requires an in-depth knowledge of all products.
• A New Install Technicians need to be able to comfortably train a customer on the different elements of each product and ensure that the customer will be able to use the product in the correct way.
• A New Install Technician must be customer-focused and be able to interact with customers from different backgrounds.
• Customer service is of the utmost importance and the New Install Technician must make this a priority at all times.
• As a New Install Technician, you will also need to build up knowledge in the field of various different admin programs and how they integrate with our own products. Building up technical skills on 3rd party communication devices is also needed for example Huge Connect and GDSP.
• A New Install Technician will also be required to assist in preparing terminals, taking customer queries and assist in resolving them, logging of calls and when necessary assisting with service call-outs and replacements.
• Assist with customer queries received account managers and the contact center
• Assist fellow team members with questions and queries
• Replenish stock on a weekly basis and stock takes are done on a weekly basis
• Assist Regional Supervisor with a various task that might arise
• Make sure that Service Level Agreements are achieved

 
Responsibility:

• The minimum level of education: Matric
• Have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Must want to work with people and not be office-bound
• Must be able to communicate well in English internally and externally, a second language (Xhosa) is a must.
• Be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Be able to manage your time
• Must be punctual and reliable
• Be able to assist clients from different backgrounds
• Be able to go on trips around South Africa without returning every day (sleep outs are usually 2-4 days depending on the area)
• Must be able to work within a team
• Must be friendly, have positive attitude and a love for life
• The New Install Technician EL will be based at the East London regional office
