Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Durban University of Technology

BACKGROUND

• Provision has been made for one PDF position, to be filled in by any nationality but preference will be given to South Africans. Please note that Post-doctoral Fellows are not appointed as employees of the university, therefore, they are not eligible for employee benefits but are awarded tax-free stipends.

SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
VALUE PER ANNUM: South African Citizens (R300 000), Permanent Residents and Africans(R250 000) and Outside of Africa (R200 000).
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• A Doctoral degree in Biotechnology or Biochemistry obtained within the last five years
• Leading and contributing to high productivity of the Plant Biotechnology/Drug Discovery Research Group
• Carrying out other duties consistent with a post-doctoral fellowship
• Abiding by DUT’s policies, rules and procedures for post-doctoral fellows as well as codes of conduct.
• Additionally, the successful applicant will be required to publish a minimum of 2 publication units per annum in DHET/ISI/IBSS accredited journals.
• The fellowship is a one-year contract. However, renewal beyond the first year will depend on satisfactory performance in that year and availability of funding.
