    Postdoctoral Fellowship- Unit for Energy and Technology Systems

    Job Requirement 

    Renewable Energy

    • The Renewable Energy research group within the School of Industrial Engineering is looking for qualified candidates to apply for a post-doctoral fellow position. We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to aid in the development of techno-econometric models in terms of energy mix incorporating different energy sources such as bioenergy, solar, wind, etc.
    • The position will involve the application of feasibility studies as well as aid in the development, testing, and evaluation of the different energy processes and technologies through simulation modelling and/or pilot plant development.

    Requirements & skills:

    • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
    • Record of publications
    • Excellent communications skills and team work ability.

    Agriculture Research Group

    • A post-doctoral fellow position is available within the Industrial Engineering in Agriculture research group, within the School of Industrial Engineering. We are seeking a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to aid in various industrial engineering research that is conducted in the agricultural sector. The position will involve research on the design of facility layouts, decision-support systems, process optimisations, Agri-lean systems, etc.
    • The prospective candidate must be able to independently conduct research, document the research and publish in high-impact journals.

    Requirements & skills:

    • PhD in Industrial Engineering or relevant
    • Record of publications
    • Excellent communication skills and teamwork ability

    The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the level of appointment as advertised and in line with the NWU policy guidelines.
