    JOB DESCRIPTION

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Scholarly guidance, innovation and initiation with regard, to research in any field of education
    • Conducting own research at a high academic
    •  Active involvement in faculty and school, research structures
    • Mentoring of researchers, including creating development opportunities
    •  Acquiring external funding for research

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • A PhD in the relevant discipline (Educational Research for Social Transformation; HIV and AIDS in Education, Action Research (all genres) for Educational Transformation, Wellness of School Communities (NQF 10)
    • A minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience in higher education.
    • Author/co-author of a significant number of research articles in accredited journals since.
    • Extensive experience in supervision of master’s and doctoral students.

    PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

    • Teaching, research and community engagement in the field of Movement Education.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Teaching:

    • Teaching several modules in Movement Education and Life Orientation at undergraduate and postgraduate levels – in both distance and contact mode.

    Research and Supervision

    • Research and postgraduate supervision in the field of Movement Science, with appropriate publications.

    Programme Development

    • Curriculum development, among others developing study material and study guides for Movement Education modules in the different programmes.

    Administration

    • Administration of assignments, assessments, marks, resources, etc.

    Community Engagement

    Job description
    Several post-doctoral fellow positions are available within the Centre of Excellence in Carbon-based-Fuels in the research area of waste valorisation.

    • The prospective candidates must be able to independently conduct research, document and publish within the SARChI chair research programme. Our team is seeking talented individuals who possess a strong background in chemistry, engineering, or a related field, and have experience in conducting research and guiding post graduate students on the conversion of waste materials into valuable products.
    • As a postdoctoral research fellow with our team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of novel technologies and processes for the valorisation of discarded coal, biomass, and waste plastic, with the goal of creating sustainable and economically viable solutions to address our planet's waste and energy challenges.

    The candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge or sufficient experience by publication in the following:

    • Development of Bio-fire retardants: Phosphorylated lignin intumescent bio-flame retardants from biopolymers.
    • Development of Biofuels, Jet Fuels and Value Products from Microalgal Technology in South Africa.
