Poultry Eggroom Hatchery Supervisor - Dealesville at Country Bird Holdings Ltd (CBH)

Minimum Requirements

• A Matric Qualification
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word). – IT skills are essential alongside the capability to analyze operational reports, monitoring compliance with policies and procedures.
• A good understanding of modern farming methods, a commitment to animal welfare and an interest in, and understanding of, the ways in which farming impacts the environment.
• A strong interest and understanding of the Agricultural & Farming sector
• Have an excellent understanding of bird welfare
• Proficiency in English is essential in this position.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels in the business
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• An ability to cope under pressure
• Must be able to work weekends and public holidays when required
• Valid Driver’s license & own transportation.
• Strong analytical skills relating to breeder technical aspects.
• Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word)
• Knowledge of the Petersime programme.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Filling   
• Maintaining Employees leave balances 
• See that all relevant documentation i.e., leave notes is completed before submitting to payroll or HR 
• See that all relevant documentation i.e., time sheets are completed before submitting to payroll or HR 
• Attending to staff queries 
• Distributing payslips. 
• Daily and Month end stock updates are done 
• Staff reports are done 
• Preparing hatch reports 
• Fertility reports updated 
• Weekly staff planning 
• Hatcher planning 
• Updating of graphs 
• Cleaning and disinfecting of responsible department 
• Sampling of areas as per SOP’s 
• Submitting hygiene samples 
• Check and confirm set for Sunday and Monday 
• Confirm turning angels on machines that was set 
• Temperature and Turning checks are done 
• 10 day candling 
• Breakouts 
• Egg core temperatures
