Formulate strategy, implementation and optimisation;
Lead the research, design, development and testing of complex EW systems;
Lead EW technology development projects and EW research and development efforts;
Work closely with the EW Area Manager to provide inputs to the innovation and technology strategies for the EW Area;
Execute system project plans;
Interface to clients in his/her direct environment;
Interpret client requirements and compile user requirements specifications (URS);
Interpret URS requirements and compile system requirements specifications;
Conduct design reviews of EW systems (hardware and software);
Demonstrate solution design traceability of solution implementation;
Assist with requirements definition, concepts of operations, and conceptualisation of the optimum solutions;
Apply the appropriate SE know-how, at the correct life-cycle stage and system hierarchal level to comply with higher-level project requirements;
Assists in technology audits through the development life;
Play a leading role in Human Capital Development (HCD), especially transferring EW applications knowledge to junior engineers;
Have specialist EW domain knowledge with in-depth knowledge in one or more of the following fields, RF Circuits and Systems, High-Speed Digital Hardware, Firmware and Embedded Design, Software Programming and Signal Processing.
Qualifications, Skills And Experience
A Bachelor of Engineering in electronics with at least eight years engineering experience, of which five years’ should be in design and development;
A Masters degree in engineering will be an advantage;
Working experience in signal analysis and/or system analysis;
Knowledge of the following is essential:
Radar and EW signal processing and applications;
Antennas, Radio Frequency (RF) systems, Electromagnetic Theory and Propagation models;
Electronic hardware and software implementation;
Knowledge of the following will be advantageous:
Digital Radio Frequency Memories (DRFMs) and their application areas;
Hardware-In-The-Loop Environment Simulator Systems and their applications;
Strong analytical skills including a good mathematical and statistical ability;
An enthusiastic, self-motivated and a self-starter;
Good communication, interpersonal and writing skills;
Decisive;
Ability to work under pressure and a team player;
Project management exposure will be an advantage;
Willingness to mentor juniors and transfer knowledge;
Open to performing business development and client liaison.
