Private Equity Fund Accountant at Acumen Group

One of our Multi-National clients in the Financial Services industry is currently looking for a Private Equity and Fund Accountant to join their team. Ideally, the successful incumbent should have 5 - 8 years post article experience preferably in the Investment industry.

Duties:

• Ensure proper accounting for investment structures, lower-tier/subsidiary trial balances, equity method accounting and consolidation
• Review the Administrator’s accounting for investment structures, lower-tier/subsidiary trial balances, equity method accounting and consolidation
• Providing assistance and guidance on accounting standards and best practices
• Providing technical accounting/industry knowledge to clients
• Mentor accounting staff
• Responsible for performing a variety of accounting, analytical, & financial reporting duties ensuring client and investor activity reporting is prepared and completed appropriately
• Implementation of fund structures onto the accounting system
• Prepare reconciliations to source documents of accounting data entered into the system
• Utilize your knowledge base in partnership accounting to manage the books for the portfolio of company investments

Qualifications:

• Registered CA(SA) / SAICA Membership
• 5 - 8 years post article experience, preferably Investment experience
• 4 - 6 years of Managerial experience
• Strong Business Acumen
• Technically proficient
• Big 4 Articles preferably
